Saltbox is one of the very best organisations in the country, supporting churches and Christians in serving their city by networking locally and developing a co-ordinated and strategic approach to civic engagement. The Church sector is a longstanding, vibrant and important deliverer of services to any city with significant staffing and assets providing in-roads into often hard to reach communities. Once this sector is joined up in its activities and strategic in its delivery it can play a very important role in the transformation of the city. Saltbox enables that joined up approach. I cannot recommend this organisation too highly.

Saltbox has led the way in encouraging local churches and Christian leaders across Stoke-on -Trent to work together. They have pioneered Faith Action Audits and Civic Prayer Events that are now being replicated by churches in hundreds of villages, towns and cities across the UK.

For many years Saltbox has helped to pioneer the promotion of Christian unity and prayer, focused specifically on blessing towns and cities. Saltbox has also been a positive force for good nationally, working collaboratively with many faith initiatives and organisations. 

For 35 years Saltbox has been working for the common good in North Staffordshire, supporting the Christian community, bringing people together, helping the young and the old, supporting the disadvantaged, the indebted and the lonely. Today there are few, if any, sectors of society which Saltbox does not impact in some way. Long may Saltbox continue to aid the spiritual and social transformation of North Staffs. 

Stoke-on-Trent Foodbank works in partnership with Saltbox for the provision of Money Matters advice to Foodbank guests. Saltbox is a professionally run organisation and is a pleasure to work with. Stoke-on-Trent Foodbank has benefited from taking part in well-run events and groups organised by Saltbox for the benefit of the local area. 

It’s been incredible to see the continuing growth of influence and effectiveness that Saltbox has had locally and nationally. Through their numerous works they have been making such a difference: from supporting so many vulnerable or overlooked lives; to serving and influencing the movers and shakers on the political landscape; and helping to facilitate the local church to make a more effective contribution in society. Saltbox is a benchmark that inspires us to reach for more.
